The Border’s Customs

The building of the Border Customs, Architectural Icon and pride of Ciudad Juarez was designed by the prestigious architect George E. King in 1887, and is one of the main attractions of this museum for its beauty and history. But not only that, this building is also a true protagonist and witness of the Mexican Revolution.

Already in 1909 when it hosted the presidents Diaz and Taft to celebrate that famous interview, demonstrated the protagonist character that would have years later during the armed struggle; In May 1911, after the capture of the frontier city, Francisco I. Madero installed his offices here, making this place the provisional presidency of the republic; In 1913 it was the headquarters of Villa and in 1914 again was the provisional presidency of the republic when receiving in its facilities the revolutionary government of Carranza.
